Release 1.0

By Alison Sainsbury & Richard HauerPublished 28 Oct 20263 minutes

JSON-LD Schema Manager 1.0 is on the SitecoreAI Marketplace. It is the first release, and it does the whole job: a marketing team designs the schema, maps it to the site's content, checks it, and Sitecore publishes the JSON-LD into every page built on the matching template. No code, and no ticket.

What is in 1.0

  • 31 ready-made blocks. The schema.org types enterprise sites use most, from Organization and WebSite to Article, Product, FAQPage, JobPosting and LocalBusiness. Each one carries the properties Google and the answer engines look for, with the required ones marked.
  • The whole schema.org catalogue behind them. Add a type the library does not cover, and pick the properties you need.
  • Shared records. State a fact once, such as your organisation's name, logo and social profiles, and every graph that points at it publishes the same thing.
  • Graphs. Group the blocks a content type needs, point each property at a page field, a fixed value or a shared record, and bind the graph to a page design. Every page built on that design publishes the JSON-LD.
  • Stable identifiers. Every entity gets an @id, generated the same way on every page, so search engines and answer engines join your pages into one picture of who you are.
  • Preview and validation. See the exact JSON-LD for a real page before it goes live. The app flags missing required values, and the Google Rich Results Test is one click away.
  • Multilingual by default. Each page publishes in its own language, with no extra set-up.
  • In-app help and guides. Every screen explains itself, and the full guides sit inside the app.
  • Rendered server-side, in the page. The JSON-LD is part of the HTML in the head of the page. Nothing is injected by a script, so every crawler reads it, including the AI crawlers that do not run JavaScript.

What stays yours

The schema configuration is content items in your own Sitecore content tree. It is your content and your IP, and it stays there if you stop using the app. Nothing about your schema, your field values or your usage is held outside your Sitecore infrastructure. See How it works for the full picture.

What you need

A SitecoreAI site that uses page designs, and a few hours of developer time to add the rendering component from our reference examples for React, Next.js or Blazor. After that, your marketing team does the work. The detail is in What you need and Installing JLSM.

What comes next

We have a few ideas that we'd like to work on, depending on how the app launches. Including Sitecore XP/XM on-prem compatibility, and component-level schema, for the structured data that belongs to one component on a page rather than the whole page, such as breadcrumbs and FAQ lists. And a GA4 dataLayer add-on, so the same mapping feeds your analytics as well as your schema. Watch this page, or get updates by email.
